2014
Epigeous insects in the “Dumbrava Sibiului” oak forest were captured between 2013-2014. From April to September in each year. 12 traps were installed in a circle 147 individuals collected belonged to 28 species and 6 families: Carabidae – 14 species (50.0%), 187 individuals (77.37 %), Staphylinidae – 7 species (25.0 %), 15 individuals (6.17 %), Silphidae – 3 species (10.72 %), 29 individuals (11.93 %), Elateridae – 1 species (3.51 %), 1 individual (0.41 % ), Scarabaeidae – 2 species (7.14 %), 8 individuals (3.29 %), Forficulidae – 1 species (3.51 %), 2 individuals (0.82 %)). Also, we presented in tables the ecological requirements of the species of Carabidae collected, the variation of thei…
GASTRONOMIC AND FOOD TOURISM AS AN ECONOMIC LOCAL RESOURCE: CASE STUDIES FROM ROMANIA AND ITALY
2018
The aim of this study was to contribute to the literature on food tourism by proposing the concept of place and events linked to food, and to analyze the opportunity of gastronomic tourism for local development around Romania (Sibiu Region) and Italy (Sicily Region). The materials were 336 interviews with tourists. Specially designed questionnaire allowed fast data collection. The questions were of qualitative and quantitative type, useful to encode the expressed opinions of the tourists. The results highlight the need for destination marketing organizations to pay more attention to the link between destination image and food events. It concludes that tourism practices enable the continuity…
MANAGEMENT ECOSYSTEM IN DUMBRAVA SIBIULUI FOREST ON THE EVOLUTION OF SPECIES MACROLEPIDOPTERA SIBIU DURING THE YEARS 2000-2012
2014
It was studied the ecology and phenology, the flight periods of the Macrolepidoptera during the period 2000-20012 in the Natural Park „Dumbrava Sibiului”. The natural conditions and the specific features were mentioned in my previous papers (Stancă-Moise, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2007, 2010, 2011, 2012). There is no doubt that the appearance of the different species of Macrolepidoptera in different periods of time is in a direct relation with the succession of the climatic conditions. The flight periods express the biological specific feature of each species of Lepidoptera, being in direct connection with the activity of feeding and reproduction of imagos.
Ten years of cultural development in Sibiu: The European cultural capital and beyond
2011
This study presents the results of a ten year monitoring programme on cultural and tourism development in the city of Sibiu. Over the ten year research period the programme expanded to cover a wide range of data sources, including resident and visitor surveys, stakeholder interviews and secondary statistical data. The research started at a fairly low level with studies of single events in the cultural agenda of Sibiu. The programme was significantly expanded in 2007 thanks to the staging of the European Capital of Culture in the city. Support from the ECOC allowed the scale of the research to be increased. Since 2007 the Lucian Blaga University has continued to collect data using its own re…
MACROLEPIDOPTERA SPECIES WITH VULNERABLE STATUS AND THEIR IMPACT ON THE PROTECTED AREA OF DUMBRAVA SIBIULUI
2013
The present work is a part of a complet study concerning of Macrolepidoptera from the forest “Dumbrava Sibiului” in the Sibiu county. They are presented only the species found by myself for the frist time from this area. I mention that these species were not found by me in the five collections of Lepidoptetra studied by me and preserved at the Natural Hystory Museum in Sibiu.
FAMILY PIERIDE (LEPIDOPTERA, PIERIDAE) AND EVOLUTION OVER TIME IN FOREST GROVE SIBIU (SIBIU, ROMANIA)
2015
Transylvania, with its geographic location, flora and fauna is a well defined region, whereby, in addition to many common elements with neighboring areas, there are also some characteristic species, which so far continue to maintain the "endemic" status. The previous decades were very important for the development of Lepidopterological research in Sibiu and Transylvania, in the postwar years. The richness of insect fauna and especially the numerous species of Lepidoptera as of its existing knowledge of this group of insects stimulated the curiosity of many researchers since the middle of the 19th century.
CONTRIBUTIONS TO (COLEOPTERA: STAPHYLINIDAE) IN DUMBRAVA SIBIULUI FOREST, ROMANIA IN TERMS OF THE YEARS 2013-2014
2015
This research study describes the results obtained during the years 2013-2014 by capturing in the soil traps, the epigenous artropodofauna in the Dumbrava Sibiului Forest. In addition, the entomofauna structure was studied and ecological interpretations were achieved regarding aspects such as: abundance, dominance, phenology of the collected species collected making a their description from an ecological and ethological point of view. Also the Species were presented and biologically described at the capture data. The experience was run in the period 2013- 2014 (April 2, 2013 and March 21, 2014) and some of the data were taken from a study conducted from 2011-2014 by author together with the…
Information on the macrolepidoptera fauna of “Dumbrava Sibiului” oak forest (Sibiu, Romania)
2015
In order to establish systematic, ecological and ethological studies, it is extremely important to know the composition of faunal species of Lepidoptera collected in the past and present from "Dumbrava Sibiului" Forest located on the outskirts of Sibiu in central Romania. To assess the current state of Lepidoptera species, we conducted a complex research which was carried out for over 13 years, based on our own samples collected: from March to November, but also on the data resulted from studying the species existing in the collections of the Natural History Museum of Sibiu. After the research we have identified a number of 243 species belonging to 14 families collected over time from "Dumb…
Research on macrolepidoptera species (Insecta: Lepidoptera) collected in Dumbrava Sibului Forest (Romania) in conditions of the year 2011 and their s…
2012
Macrolepidoptera fauna of Sibiu and its surroundings is studied for over 124 years by the naturalists Saxons. The collected material is preserved in the form of individual collections at the Natural History Museum in Sibiu. In addition to our material collected by us since 2001, data from these collections were a valuable documentary material for the present work. Our considerations on Macrolepidoptera flight periods are based on research conducted during the year 2011 from March to November in the protected area Dumbrava Sibiului. The natural conditions and the characteristics of the investigated area were revealed in several previous articles that could be found in the reference list. Thi…
